Production Team

Sandra Waltner Huston grew up on a farm and graduated from a Christian high school in Freeman, South Dakota. After obtaining degrees in English and Music and a Theatre minor from Eastern Mennonite College, Sandra participated in various short-term mission programs, traveling to Puerto Rico and Bolivia. Later she spent 3 ½ years as Program Director for YES BC, a youth discipleship-mission program in British Columbia.

For the past seven years Sandra has served as Communications Coordinator for Global Disciples. Her role includes media and video production, article and script-writing, editing, and special event planning.

A passionate worship leader, Sandra enjoys singing, playing piano, guitar and bass guitar. Over the past 14 years she has lead worship in a variety of settings, including her local church, retreats, seminars and small groups. She also enjoys drama and has directed several musicals and shorter pieces in her church and community. Her other hobbies include gardening, cooking and watching movies with her video producer husband, Rob, whom she met while filming Just a Desert Boy.

Director: Steven Hult

Steven Hult grew up in San Jose, California. He attended Dallas Bible College for two years and transferred to Bethel College in St. Paul, where he graduated with a major in Bible and Theology, and minors in English and music. He then attended Bethel Seminary for three years. Among other positions, Steve served as a regional manager for a branch of Conoco Oil, as a youth pastor at three different churches and as an associate pastor for two years at a Baptist church in San Jose.

Steve directed Messenger Media Ministries in Minneapolis for 7 years, which included evangelistic programs, various media productions, and drama and music designed for prisons, churches, camps and outreach events. He has also spent many years as a freelance photographer and writer for various newspapers and magazines.

In 1996, Steve began working with video with the youth group at his local church. Communicating the Gospel through video quickly became one of Steve’s passions and in 1999 he joined Global Disciples as Communications Director. He worked with publications, photo and video projects, and started the Global Disciples web site. Video soon became an important part of the ministry of Global Disciples, and Steve’s position morphed into full-time video production. Over the last six years, Steve has worked on more than 50 video projects. He won the Aurora Platinum “Best of Show” Award for editing in 2005 and, along with Producer-Writer Sandra Waltner, has won two Telly Awards, a Communications Award and a Davey Award.
